⭐ What Does the PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization) Do for the Starr's Mill community?
The Starr’s Mill PTSO brings parents, teachers, and students together to support and enhance the academic experience at Starr’s Mill High School. Through membership dues/donations, volunteer efforts, and community involvement, we fund programs and resources that directly benefit our students, teachers, and staff.
When we say “membership,” we really mean a $45 donation that directly supports:
✅ Staff appreciation events — recognizing and celebrating our teachers and staff.
✅ Teacher grants — funding creative classroom projects and supplies.
✅ Student recognition — honoring academic achievement and excellence.
✅ Departmental supplements — providing extra resources for learning.
✅ Senior scholarships — supporting our graduating students through a cash essay competition.
By joining the PTSO, you help make all of this happen — and ensure our school community continues to thrive.
There are many ways to volunteer!
Last year our volunteers donated 3000 hours of their time. We always need help even one hour goes a long way to meeting our goals!
